LAYERED CLOTHING SYSTEM

The layered system of clothing allows you to add an item of clothing if you need to be warmer or take one off in order to cool down. The fabrics in every WORK-IT garment allow body heat and sweat to evaporate to avoid over-heating when active and chilling during recovery. To get the best from every garment, we believe it should be well designed and capable of working with other garments as part of a layered system of clothing.

It is well known that many thin layers provide greater warmth
than one single thick layer.

BASE LAYER

The 1st layer of clothing next to the skin. This layer needs to be highly functional, allowing your skin to breathe and sweat freely.

Our fabrics transport moisture away from the body keeping you comfortable and dry regulating your temperature.
Like the WORK-IT Basalt SS Tee, which works hard for you with permanent wicking, anti-bacterial and anti-uv.

MID LAYER

The 2nd layer of clothing complementing the baselayer. The Mid Layer has the same technical functions as the baselayer but is thicker and warmer, enhancing thermal insulation. Full breathability is maintained allowing the evaporation of moisture.
This is no better demonstrated than in the Vail Grid Fleece, modern sportswear design and functionality with the durability and protection demanded in the trade.

OUTER LAYER

The outer layer offers advanced performance and protection against harsh and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
Again, this layer must be breathable working with the lower layers and helping to keep you comfortable but block all that nature decides to throw your way.
The top layer, depending on weather conditions, is there to keep the wind, or the sun, or the rain off – the Scafell Softshell is ideal with a 3-layer fabric shell.
